Saw this for sale near by, they are asking $390. Unsure if it has any available lisences or if it has any tune pre-loaded. I'm still a Tuner-newb so I'm not sure if I'm asking the right questions either but If I purchased this and it has an extra lisence would I be able to just use the preloaded tunes or would I have to purchase tunes to install on my LMM. Let me know what you guys think. Thank in advance for any help.

Haha more than an autocal costs new. It's worth like 150$

You still need to buy a license and tunes. They're specific to your vin.

Thanks, I think I'll be going with my original plans. Does altitude affect the tunes you use? I live in Denver and will probably use Robs Mild Max dsp5 but if there is a better tune for higher altitudes I would be interested in those. Not saying Robs aren't great tunes.

Moved over into Tuning/Logging section for you.

Yes to your altitude question. Thats one parameter you've got to disclose to the tuner, on top of what your goals with the truck are, what mods youve already done (and plan to do), etc...

Ive got Robs milds tunes, they work pretty dang well up here. Maybe Wade at DDD would be able to REALLY fine tune for the altitude but idk

Thanks for the move Bac, I'll be sure to let whatever Tuner I use where I'm located.
My buddy Tanner swears by Dans Diesel Performance tunes.
Does anyone have experience with his tunes?

Call mark at Danville performance. Best money you can spend tuning wise. I have ran marks tuning manfreds tuning from longhornfabshop and kory willis from ppei. Mark was hands down the best. Manfred was second in my opinion. I know ill get shot in the foot for saying that but its just an opinion. Mark has tuned a bunch of trucks and i havent seen one neg thing said about him. What sets his apart from the rest is the customer service provided by everyone at danville. If you have an issue he will figure it out. I havent had robs tunes so i dont know about him.

Id give Wade a jingle first, since he is local and can tune your truck in person.

Got tuning from Wade. Quite happy, and he is able to work with altitude very well.
Hes on 112th and Irma more specifically. Great to just talk to if you having tuning questions as well.

I've been to DDD and they shot me down. Said it's illegal for them to tune my truck.
I'm assuming it's because it's an 08 with all the emissions crap. I ordered th EGR delete, PCV Reroute and and EGT gauge today. Hoping my wife will buy me an exhaust for my bday next month. I have cash in my pocket burning up, waiting to pick a Tuner.

I'm still debating on Robs tunes, just messaged someone about Danville tunes and haven't looked into RR yet. I use my truck for work and do a lot of city driving and a few times a week pull my 3k lb trailer. Not gonna go crazy on mods just yet, just getting started and want to increase the mpg. I do pull my 27ft TT about 5+ times during the summer but only in Colorado. She weighed about 8k.

No need to debate on Rob's tunes. You will not find a more respected tuner for the Duramax.
