Cool. I didnt want to hijack but I have my VB all apart and its full of clutch material everywhere so I wondered how you went about cleaning it out. That sounds like a good idea, i just didnt know how it would affect the o-rings on some of the valves.
Are you gonna go ahead and build the transmission now? I had clutch material in my pan and well, you saw the clutches.
Make sure it's DRY before reassembly. You don't want that stuff running through your tranny. I you use something to dry it with (rag) make sure it is lint free aswell before putting it back together. Your better off using shop air.

So Pull all the solenoids and use brake clean or just leave the other solenoids and valves in and clean it?
If you decide to leave the solenoid's in, make sure they are high up as to not let the river of dirty cleaner wash inside of them.
I was able to locate a homeless guy with a reaming tool. I'm going to bolt it up tomorrow afternoon, I'll let you know how it goes.

I pulled the pan off and found one of the connector's not plugged in. It seem's to be fixed now.
