solid mounts?

Would it hurt anything to run a 2 piece engine mount like m/a has with an aluminum bushing instead of polly? Same thing with a tranny mount would it crack anything or put stress on anything? Would be a daily driver. I know I could make a set for probably next to nothing working in a fab shop.

I hate how much the merchants rattle my dash with a bushing in them. I couldn't imagine being solid.

The merchants rattle that bad even with a poly bushing? We have a wear pad material at my work to we can get in cylinders I think its like a nylon or something. But I think it might be to soft. Id just hate to pay what there asking for a set of those bad boys. Besides the annoying factor would it hurt anything? Most of all would it help?

I have but this 1054 is pushy anyways and I didn't really like the feel. Might try to go down on idle and see what happens. Got the mounts on yesterday too thanks again!

I have stock ones that are drilled with a 1/2 inch bolt through them. They are very solid and have really no play and I don't have any vibration.

Drill a hole and run a bolt through. I have a 9/16" grade 8 in mine and 2 1/2" grade 8s in Brian's. Not one issue in either and you still get a smooth idle

I had mine bolted on the drivers side. It is better but the problem was in a hard 4wd launch the passenger side squishes down enough the manifold will hit the frame and my front driveshaft will hit the loops. Don't have those problems with merchants

I know mine torques over in 4x4 when I dump the clutch at 3600 rpms. I just dont want to break the block or transmission case being solid mounted. Maybe a aluminum bushing with a nylon sleeve around it would be better.

My bolted mount still allowed for quite a bit of motor movement. I finally put a set of merchants on a couple weeks ago. With the movement I saw and the weight I plan on hanging off the side of the motor I couldn't see not running them.

All good info so far guys. Just gathering opinions and experiences. I might try a nylon pad or bushing of some sort

Mounts

Sorry for the way the pic is. You'll have to zoom in on it. The bolt goes from top to bottom. You can see the nut in the pic. Put them in the freezer before drilling them it makes it easier.

I can get one of the guys to send me a better pic. My truck is a few hours away. I can't wait to get it running again. I would seriously drill your stock ones as long as they are in good shape and not broke or wore out. I was running a 366/483 compound setup with drilled and bolted mounts that are in that pic and they didn't move. I had no issues with stuff rubbing or hitting.
