Hi all I have been absent alot lately I have to say I have missed alot and cant wait to get back alot more but that will have to wait till after I am done with the current project.

Since I am originally a ford guy here is what I started with A 67 Ford F100 300 6 cylinder, 4 spd non overdrive manual trans, 2wd Dana 44 with 4.10 traction lock diff.

The 300 6 cylinder that was imediatley removed.

I then started by cutting out the front suspension crossmember and everything attached
out with the old

in with the new

Here the frame is partially boxed and the 2007 aluminum crossmember with rack and pinion steering and 12" disc brakes.

After getting that installed I took it all apart to coat the entire frame in por-15. I then started work on the new rear axle with 31 spline axles and 3.27 gears and traction lock with 11" disc brakes

After all this work getting the thing to sit right I started installing the "baby Dmax" engine, at least thats what I call it. The diesel engine is a 1990 isuzu 4BD1T 3.9L 4 cylinder. I stuck a HY35 turbo on before I even installed the thing. I am shooting for 350hp and 550+ tq. Do you think that will move my 4000# truck along? :)

I know its no real Duramax but hey I couldnt stick a ford diesel in it and ANY gasser is out so the choice was a cummins or this. I figure its at least a distant cousin to the engine I love (duramax). I am hoping for 30-32mpg (which isnt unreasonable trust me) and a good bit of power for this light weight truck. I will also be running this thing on vegi oil.

This thing should ride and handle great thanks to the 2007 crown vic suspension, get great mpg, have plenty of power after I am done with it and all for about 20cents a gallon on vegi oil. The best part is that I only have about $11k in the whole thing that includes the truck with a rebuilt diesel, rebuilt auto w/od trans, heavy duty rear axle, 18" wheels, 4Wheel hydroboosted disc brakes, etc.

So I would like to hear what you guys think. I am mainly building this truck to use for work. I do alot of traveling and spend about $12.5K a year in fuel now with prices so high I will likely spend more, so here is my solution. I just sold the 06' jetta diesel for a good profit so I figured I would build something to my likeing and one off.

Yes the body is in excellent shape except for one small rust spot in the front driver panel I will have it fixed shortly after I get it running.

Yeah yeah I know its a ford but I cant help it this was exactly like the first truck my dad gave me and I have always wanted another since I sold mine back in high school.

I honestly dont know if they get 350hp or not but that is my goal. I know its extremely easy to get 255hp with a few turns of the screws on the injection pump so I bet 350 is attainable with a little modding. :)I think I already have the turbo for it and I know the local injection shop here can handle the pump and injectors. I havent heard of clifford research I will check it out. I have heard of clifford performance the people that deal with 6 cylinder power.

I still have some things to do to finish the truck and get it driveable but once it is, Let the modding begin. I am hatching some ideas right now on a custom equal length header and intake manifold along with some head porting ( I will be calling guy for some knowledge). To my knowledge noone has ever really pushed the limits of this little engine so I want to see what it can handle.

If that engine is anywhere near like the Cummins 4bt, it is quite capable of 500+rwhp. Of course, that takes a great deal of effort but still can do it and handle it with a smile all the while. Stout engines no doubt.

you should see if a p-pump from a 4 cyl Cummins will fit on there some how. Then you'll be able to have all the fuel you need.

That is, of course, if what's on it isn't sufficient for supplying large amounts of fuel itself. ;)

The pump on it is similar to the cummins p style pump. the injection shop I have been talking to tells me they can get a good bit of fuel out of it along with modding the injectors if needed.
