and my truck went bug eyed:eek: i was going up this rutted out hill all articulated and was crawling in 4 LO, got to a spot and KANK!!! there goes my tierod ball joint! so much for sleeves:baby:

anyways was only 20 away from home so my wife found me and my friend and took him to his house where he had an extra one laying around. so i got it fixed no prob and continued to have fun in the dirt :D

now to deside on what aftermarket parts to buy to further stregthen my front end.

if anyone want to buy some sleeves for cheap lemme know! almost new

I believe the consensus is stock tie rods with sleeves are the best combo... Yes i would def. do a centerlink. If you go wheeling I would invest lots of front end parts to keep everything together.

i run the cognitos and they are a nice piece . only down fall i can see is if one fails you cant get one local but i have my stockers set aside in case of failure .and cant imagine one failing they are a stout piece . i just installed a sd centerlink great so far for drag racing but dont thinks its nec for offroad i wouldnt replace it unless your getting toe in under heavy power, i was even with the cognito braces and new pitman and idler arms , the center link fixed it . but if you need one the sd is a nice unit .

cool. my bud just put some cognitos on about 5K ago. he was running the hiem ones before. he bent them:eek:

ya i still get some toe in on boosted 4X launches. i lowered my front so my cv's are just barely pointed downhill, so i still may need to lower more.

i just have it stuck in my head for some reason that a new centerlink will make my truck a lot tighter in the front end

Do you have link for the bigger tie rods,Looks like the bolt took a crap, And if thats the case the beefier ones will not stop this,There made to bolt in the same as the factory ones and there bolt size would be the same.I could see this fixing it http://www.pacificp.com/store/index..._id=60&zenid=03b522ae59cb78424da0f866faa49a22

the ball joint broke up inside the boot at the very top. these cognitos are twice teh size ball joint

it will not make the front end any tighter but it will fix your toe problem but like in life theres no free lunch you will lose some turning radius and some speculate a little more tire wear for me i was will to give to get a proper set up with no comprimise in strength .

They look good,Still don't look much biggier in the area the you broke,The center link you will not be able to turn as sharp but it is tighter up front,I run that and sleeves and the braces.

the key word is speculate but i dont buy it. it changes the sweep angle is all, the tire doesnt know or care in my opinion but time will tell .

a friend with an 02 dmax with 35's put a new centerlink in and it did make his front end more solid, before if you would jack the truck up you could move one tire back and forth without the other one moving he installed the centerlink and it got rid of almost all of that
