So no more fuel pickup?

I never did a controlled before and after test, but after seeing what the stock pickup looks like, I'm glad I replaced it...
i can tell you there IS a diference i never ran a lift pump. between stock and socals pickup i noticed the truck pulls harder on the top end.
And these replace the stocker unit correct? Do they work on the LMM?
I know a new one is included with Airdogs kits, but Im not so sure I like cutting a hole in the top of my fuel tank to install it.

Do you think you can feed enough fuel to your motor through a 1/4" hole? That's what size the hole in the factory pickup is.
They are still sold by PPE and Kennedy Diesel.
funny I was debating with myself long ago 3/8" vs. 1/2" line for the lift pump, with out changing the pickup, it really wouldn't matter anyway, right?
Mike how did you mount your lift pump? the supply lines are 1/2 and the fittings on the ppe lift pump are 1/2. Just wondering where you were planning on using 3/8
I haven't seen the Airdog model, I suspect it is just a steel tube like the FASS version. I would think you would have trouble picking up fuel at low tank levels on any kind of an angled surface.
Looks like PPE has an LB7-LLY model listed and LBZ/LMM model listed. Does anyone have anymore info on how they install? PPEs site says modification to fuel sender needed - just removing and replacing the stock sending line with this one or what?
The LBZ is easy all you do is swap the fuel lines on the sending unit around no cutting like the older truck and make you old supply line the vent to the fill neck then add the -10 to th eold vent line in the tank to the new pickup and from the reinstall your sening unit and the old vent line will run to your lift pump, you just have to fill your tank slower if you use the big noozle at the pumps smaller one fill fin on high.
This is on my list of things to do, I have a feeling that anything we can do to increase fuel flow will better our overall performance. I also feel that we need to make our air flow much more efficient.
I just need all my tank capiactiy. It wouldnt be so bad if i had the big tank like the long beds. But it seems like i filling up every couple hours anyways. I need a bigger tank
