well betweem having a problem w/ my edge the other day at the track and my buddy pete pushing me to do it i've finally decided to go to EFI. my biggest question is i wanna make big #s but i don't have a trans yet, it's on the to do list of course but i'm broke and have no money for that right now.

how many people are out there running big tunes w/ a stock trans? i'll probably do a BD valve body first but i know that's not gonna help my clutches for too long. he'll sell me the license and make me a tune, but i also want to know if i was to get tunes from someone else, i would need a laptop to put them into the truck right?

You should get a dsp swictch and then you can have sevral tunes in the truck with the flick of a switch. your trans well depnds on wht you consider big power. wont really matter if you have 500rwhp tune when its just spinning the converter and not putting the power down. imo just run a nice clean tune untill you can do the trans.

that is my goal to have the switch but it's pretty pricey for that no? if i was to buy the license can i get him to dl all the tunes then just buy the switch?

and yea i can imagine i'd have some slippage w/ a 500hp tune but w/ my edge and qz stack now it's actually not too bad. can you write a 500 hp tune and adjust the trans pressure to compensate?

switch is cheap 50 bucks from guy so cal diesel http://socaldiesel.com/2EFILive.htm and then whoever is doing your tuneing can write the proper tune for you

if you had the edge/quad stack it is only a matter of time for the trans, tick,tick,tick. but we all have been there. as far as tunes get a few on a dsp like stated and just drive nice. :joker:

yea i think that's what i'm gonna have to do. so basicly it'll be $100 for the license and $50 for the switch right? another dumb question, but if i can get tunes from different libraries i would need a laptop to input them into the truck right? i can't wait to try it, i've never driven in one w/ it.
