There is a hill like that in one of our areas. Ever since Danny found it has been called "Brownshorts Hill". We couldn't get him to get back on his machine for over an hour, he was freaked.

Ok, ill be the one who says it. Yeah he's lucky. That was luck over sheer idiocy. You never never ever take your machine that close to a courniced peak. And if you dont know the area, all the more reason to stay away from it. Im glad he didnt go over, but this is a prime example and a good educational tape of what not to do. Plus, riding alone in areas like that? Wow. An avalanche would make him an unfindable missing person.

Riding

I snowmobiled for years in the wyoming and utah mountains. I finally go5 rid of having to live on the edge feeling with everything i used to do. The video we all watched is the reason why! Too many close calls for this guy! I guess i am getting old?

I agree with some of you.... However riding in the backcountry has it's risk's and as a backcountry rider I try to be as prepared as I can. But there is no way to know every area or be able to stay out of harms way at all times. I understand that when I head out.

I am trained in avalanche safety, ride with buddies, have beacons, shovels and probes. Life is a risk, I can get run over crossing the streets just as easy I can get taken out in a freak accident riding my sled.

Besides how do you know he was by himself??? Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't...
