snow plow prep AUX switch next to air bag on/off

Any idea how many amps this AUX switch can handle?

IIRC it's 10 amps.

I found the wiring and the 30 amp relay. The relay was behind the driver side rear cab panel, below the speaker. The wiring was taped to the roof above the headliner.

Interesting...The VYU package that includes that switch labels it as a 10 amp feed according to the upfit guide. On my past 02 and 04 trucks with the prep package, the relay was in the lower part of the drivers b post and the wiring traveled up the post and was coiled up above the headliner.

maybe the relay isn't the limiting factor? I wonder if the aux switch is fused separately.

I stand corrected...You're right. I think. The lead is a 30 amp lead with a fuse located in the underhood box labeled SEO 2 according to the link below. But on the brochures it lists it as a 10 amp.

This aux switch is hot all the time. What's the best way to make it "key on" hot?

Easiest way would be putting a relay in where the switch controls the contacts and the load gets powered by key switched source. The switch will be hot, but the load will be key switched.

This also depends on the amp load as well...
