I don't know if this is where it should good but I couldn't fit the chit chat forum.

I know there's some guys out there that are into and great grillers so I thought I'd post some pictures of the side project I've been working on and the reason I don't have that turbo on yet:D.

Our project manager was wanting a smoker and I've always wanted to build one so I told him I was game, I think it turned out pretty good. Today is the first fire so I'm getting use to the characteristics of this smoker.

So far so good, heating it up right now to get it seasoned then I've got some bacon to through in it followed by ribs and tender loin, hopefully it tastes good, this is my first time smoking alone.

I'm sure some are wondering what's up with the yellow tape? Being its the project manager and my guys aren't on site Friday's he wanted to fire it up today; should be a good day.

All I have is pictures of how it sits right now, I've got more form building it back home on my personal laptop. If anybody wants more pictures or detail just let me know.

Enjoy and all feed back is welcome, I'm by no means a smoking expert, just know enough to be dangerous. :D

Decided to try a horizontal smoker this time.

Got the main structure done today so I was able to move it around myself without the forklift. Still have to weld the end caps on, build the stack, make the trays inside, handles to move it, and a shelve on the outside of the smoke box. It's alot easier to work on this one being it's only 1/4" wall as apposed to 3/8" like the last one.

So much hostility!!!! :D:roflmao:
Maybe I could mail you a sample :spit::D.

You guys are more than welcome to come up for a visit, I don't know if it's worth the drive though. :roflmao:

"Rgullett83" if I were still in Illinois it would be ALOT closer, haha.

Vegas would be nice too, never been there before. Ribs are a good starter meat; you know when they're done once the bone is curved like a U and they're spongy.
Now if I could convince the wife I'd load up the rockcrawler and smoker :woott:.

I should almost be done with it next weekend I'm hoping. Things tend to take awhile when you only get to work on them 2 days a week :(. And on one of those days you end up having to work even though you don't have any guys on site to supervise, haha. :D

I do need some tuning with the new turbo and tranny, maybe I could work out a deal.:rolleyes:

Well I've almost got the smoker done. Just have to put the probe ports in, smoke baffles, and the stop for the smoker door. It's starting to get heavy, it doesn't help that the stack is made out of 4in diameter 1/4in wall material, :D.

I got alot of work done yesterday and today but would have gotten more done if I wouldn't have gotten interrupted so much.
From now on I need to lock the maintenance shop door and not turn on the radio so people leave me alone.

On with the pictures, what do you think?

Well I couldn't wait till the weekend to finish it up so I stayed up late lastnight to finish. The guy wanted to take it home this weekend so I figured I'd get it done for that reason too.

I'm very please as to how it turned out. It's not huge but will work good. It also didn't take that terrible long to build it, about 4 weekends. Or I'm just that fast, haha :woott:
