smoked head lights and shaved tailgate

shaved my tailgate handle yesterday and I had a lot of extra clear so I decieded to tint the headlights with the extra. I added some black base to the clear and sprayed the headlights. I put on 4 coats and it came out a little to dark but it came out nice. Glossy and shiny. I gotta do the rest of the lights next week cause i ran out of clear. heres a few pics

Love the tailgate :rockon: Headlights look cool but I need all the light I can get. It's hell getting old :baby:

thanks! as 4 legal or not id have 2 say technically they are cause they do have the DOT stamp on the housing.

As for the vision id have to say it got a little dimmer but not much Ill upgrade to the brighter bulbs thou just so itll be a little better

X2 I've got my tail lights and 3rd brake light smoked. I've always wanted to do my headlights but have been worried that it wouldn't let enough light through. I think that This project is in my near future:D Could you post a pic with your lights on???? I would appreciate it

heres a few with them on. i tried them last night and id compare them to driving with the tinted GTS headlight covers. Im gonna put on a set of HID bulbs in a couple of days and see if itll make it brighter

Love not seeing the Amber sides of the housing, it really ruins these headlights.

So you did the same to your tailights ? , They look perfect.

thanks 2 all for the compliments!

the taillights will be getting done next week when i can get more clear. The tailgate took about a week to get it perfect.

yea i hated seeing the ambers too, but I tried the oven technique and couldnt get the covers off so i just painted em instead.

i gotta finish the tails next week. i ran out of clear and the paint shop doesnt open til monday.
