Okay, so the "geeks" helped me out on the lappy top issue and I now have probably far more than I will ever need of a Malibal Satori to be delivered on Tuesday. I was in Best Buy the other day and didn't realize you could buy so many laptops for less than 1K (My current HP DV4 is 6 years old). I realize these lack the specs I needed for video editing and such but none the less, I have another geek question.

After a year and some change at our new house I finally broke down and got internet the other day. My wife and I spend very little time there usually but this winter we figured we'd be there more so we spend a whopping $40/month for 30Mb/s internet with no cable/phone bundle, internet only. To me this is cheap because we pay $90/month at the farm for crappy Hughes Net 10 which is supposed to be "up to" 10MB/s but I have never seen it over 5MB/s not to mention the outages during storms when we want to use it the most. I hate living in town but love having a hard line for my interwebby thats fast too. Finally I can watch youtube on something higher than 260p lol.

So here's my next question. Currently have an old school TV in the bedroom and a smaller but new Samsung LED in the living room. The idea was to put te 32" Samsung in the bedroom when we got a bigger one for the living room.

I have not done extensive research but it sounds like the Roku 3 is well liked for streaming videos etc over the interwebby. Regardless of if we get a smart TV for the living room I'll still need something for the other TV anyways. Do I get one of these jobbies, or a smart DVD player or what???

Basically in the long run, heres the deal. We both agreed there is not enough on cable TV for us to want to spend the money on it, even with DVR, still not worth the money for us. What we want to be able to do is watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Youtube etc from the TV but over the interwebby. What device/box/etc. do I need to get in order to do this I guess.

Figured its easier to ask than to spend countless hours searching.

Thanks again.:thumb:

I know very little about computers but we bought a 32" Samsung Smart TV for the kids and it's great to watch Netflix, my 6 year old has everything figured out on it.
