Where did or will you get your trans built???

I think Im gonna bite the bullet soon, I can R&R the trans but Im not so confident about building it. I would deliver it to someone on the island or lower mainland to have it built.

Ted @ MPL is the only one I would send it to up there , there may be others that are decent but I know and trust Ted 100%, he is sharp . If you looking to buy a kit or just parts I am a Suncoast and Precision dealer and my price's are usually very competitive . I would hit up Mike Lovrich also , I believe his knew kits are finished up and coming from Mike you know there done right.

I thought Trent's prices were good and Jarasic and I were thinking of doing ours together this winter. Guess we should get other prices to keep him honest, J/K! Trent.

Whatever happens it better happen soon, I'm just heading out with the Interface to un limp my trans How many times can I get away with this though

I know ted is good and I have recomended him to many others. I used to live in Edmonton and drove down to MPL for my gauges. If I was still in Alberta I would go there but now its pretty far away ( 1300+ km)

Bellingham sounds good though. Thats like 2 hours away.

The tranny is holding the power that Catmenace is putting out very well. Might be an option, but as I said you can't go wrong with Mike L for sure.

OK Sorry your post is confusing me a bit...

You went to MikeL and had him put in a SC IV then you had DJ @ DK do some work to it Where does the Langley guy fit in??? And who is he??? If there is someone good in Langley that would be perfect.

I looked at the DK site and like most diesel places around these parts they look to be cummins orientated.

The SC IV had a problem with the C3 and it seems that the clutch was defective. Not under warrantee anymore. I got hold of DJ who had a guy in Langley rebuild the tranny. He apparently worked for BD before but does it out of his res. He rebuilt my tranny with same stuff as what goes into the SC IV. Works great. DJ out of DK Diesel would have the contacts for this guy as that is where I had my work done.

So your saying that if we contacted "DJ" @ DK diesel in Bellingham he would then recommend and give us the contact info for the guy in Langley?

If thats the case and he can build a good trans then that sounds good to me I suppose. Atleast better than trying to do it myself if he has some experience. I could catch a nucks game while Im there or something.

I already placed the call this afternoon and spoke to someone other than DJ. That person said he'd forward my number to Summit and have him call me. No call yet.

I am weighing the pros and cons of each option at this point and still want to talk to Mike L, Ted, Trent, Jarasic and Summit. Not the absolute lowest price so much as considering down time, travel, and reliable outcome (my first trans )

Is summit the guy in Langley?

My biggest concern would be reliability of the trans. If Im forking out that much cash I dont want to have to do it again for a while.

I think Summit is in Langley but I searched online and couldn't find him :secret:

I'm inclined to trust someone that does them regular more than myself having never done any trans. I'm going to study the ATSG manual this weekend though.

If we got a group together for a weekend of tranny building it could be beneficial to all of us. We can share our knowledge or lack of :rofl:

I know when Im doing something Im not so sure about it is nice to have other people to ask and look even if they dont know either....
