rims appear to be Real Wheels pulling rims. And the tires could be one of several available options. I wonder if they did all that work to get the tilt body or if maybe it used to be a gasser and they have retrofitted it to their needs? That's actually a mundane detail but hey, I'm curious.

I wanna here some more about the build, what's so different that it'll make the power?

One thing is for sure, it looks DANG good. Kinda shot him self in the foot though IMO. If you all recall, he mentioned needing to sell that engine he had in the MarketPlace because he couldn't afford to have multiple engines for his truck. Pa-leaz!

I'm just glad someone is stepping up to the ranks of Kyle Michaels in the Super Street class. I have no doubt the duramax (and a CR version of it at that) can make the power to compete at that level, just glad to see someone with the means doing it. Good oppertunity to do some more walking, not just talking.

Sure would be easy to work on that truck :D

Larry, that's EXACTLY what i thought.

I could swap a turbo in 20 minutes...pull the trans and have it back in on my feet...i could i could ...

Wonder how he ran the harness stuff from bay to cab? extended it all to the back of the truck and then back to the front, at the scissor? Or perhaps it's all in coil flex and when he hydraulically lifts it flexs and expands? Jeex maybe he has none of that, it's a race truck.

It's strange everyone keeps saying "finally someone is stepping it up" (me included) because honestly Kyle Michaels had this same level of truck over a year ago so it's not really a "first". Hopefully Wes can afford to go through the growing pains of it though. That seems to be what held/holds Kyle back. He doesn't rebound from major carnage very quick evidently due to a tight budget. Plus now I guess he is going real radical and trying to make a mechanical injected duramax because he doesn't believe the CR is up to the task???? I can never tell when he's serious or not though so who knows?????

Regardless, this new truck of Wes' is NOT the only new duramax truck being built for a class higher than the 2.8 class for next year. I know of at least another Super Street (essentially what Wes is building) being built AND a true mod class truck with tube chassis and all. And that's not including the rumors that still linger about Chris Watson (you know - the guy who built the current BigBadDodge and cleaned house in the mod class two years ago with it) building a Super Street or Mod class duramax and whatever it is, it's supposed to be done by '09 pulling season and will be badass for sure.

I know it's becoming cliche, but I will go ahead and say this.... Next year we will see some real serious Duramax powered trucks entering the ranks of Scheid, Haisley, EEP, etc. Not to mention some of the wild ass drag vehicles (notice I didn't say trucks ;) ) being built for next year. Anybody would be kidding themselves if they even hinted at the notion that the Duramax isn't, at the very least, as viable for making HP and compteting competitively as any other engine out today.

that's my guess. Surely he'll use a stand-alone controller for the engine management. I'd say he'll want more RPMs than EFI Live can get him. Maybe not, but that's my guess.

I also doubt there will be even half as much wiring to the cab but I also wonder how they run the wires for gauges and stuff though, regardless of the BCM wiring being relavent or not. I dont' know about mechanical gauges but there are junctions that close the loop when two ends come together, one side could be mounted to frame and one to body such that when the body is closed, the loop is complete. Like the picture below.

Clearly this is all speculation on my part.

i think everyone is saying "finally some one is stepping up" is cause no one has built a full tilt body with cut pulling tires. hes not running an allison tranny, from the pics he is not running ifs or a stock tcase or a stock rear end. Kyle has been at this level for a while, hes had the enigine but not the suspension or drivetrain that wes is apparently going to run.

i hope roger zeedyke is going to building something, sounds like he wants to go full tube chassis for the mod class

From my understanding, Roger is going with Super Street. His friend/neighbor is looking into building a duramax mod truck so maybe roger was getting some answers to questions for his friend? Or maybe roger WILL step up to mod?

Either way, there's gonna be more than one kick ass duramax next year in a class other than the bottom two or three.

Wes's truck looks great.

I beleive the body tilt is for maintance and will be bolted down at pulls. The floor goes with the body in the pics on DP.

I am pretty sure Roger is going big. He was asking around about standalone ECMs, tube frames, drop boxes and other hard core parts.

and a single charger though???? that's why tend to think super street (or what the heck ever the next class down from mod is) and that he was just asking about the frames for his bud. I hope is going big though! That'd make a half dozen or so mods by '09

I know his neighbor/friend is going mod. That's according to their other neighbor that dabbles in pulling and stuff as well. Got some tires from him. ;) Would be a wild strip of trucks from the same road in the country. :D

John, how's your truck coming along? Is it for sure gonna be done for the 08 season? I hope so, for your sake. You've done a lot of homework and work to get it there. Hope you finally get to enjoy it this year and reap the fruits of your labor.

The engine is doing very well. I having a hard time with driveline parts to go behind it right know. $2000 for a spool and axles is hard for me to come to terms with. But I have soooo much in this truck already I can afford to risk an overrev engine explosion form running stock shafts. More Koolaid and ramen noodles for me I guess.

Right know I have my first pull planned for the end of March. I already took vacation for TS. If I dont blow it up. I will be down there Pulling, racing and :alcoholic: with you fine Kentucky folk. Than pull FPP Pro Street and NADM 2.8" up here.

I would like to go to Scheids and Merchants but the money to do all that I don't have in the budget right know. I still need to get a bigger GN trailer from TRAILERPRO. My current on is two small for hualing a CCLB and pulling junk.

I going to be a happy SOB when the 02 moves under its own power again.

I'll be there. Looks like we may have a little McRat pow-wow going on. :D The plan is to be setup and ready to pull by then. Either way, I'll be hookin because that pull is a Double or maybe even Triple points pull for the points series I'm gonna run in. So, at the very least, I have to get hooked to the sled, even if I don't move the dang thing. :D
