So I have a motor that I plan on swapping into my Kodiak but its been sitting without being ran for a year. Its been sealed up in the original truck with the only thing exposed to the outside is the air intake under the hood. We plan on pulling the heads and doing studs and gaskets, but is there something i need to do to the injectors or anything else? What should we do on first start up to build oil pressure or should we do that on the engine stand?

When you pull the heads you'll be able to see if anything is wrong.

Fresh oil and run it. You don't know if the injectors were good to begin with.

You can have the injectors tested through a local diesel shop. Might not be a bad idea if you don't know the motor's history. Typically, I wouldn't worry about injectors falling from sitting for a year. But, now is the time if you're pulling them out anyways.
