Sounds like your using the default theme. Go to the lower left of the screen, there is a pull down there select Black/Grey and see if you like that. DO NOT select the Mobile Theme. That is for cell phones you won't like it on your computer.
Not 4.0x that version is crap IMO, 4.1 might be a possibility. At least now I'll be able to test it here. I am currently testing xenForo on both a local server in my house and now on this server (hidden out in the open :rofl
. While still in beta, xF I think has a lot of potential. It will be while though before it is grown enough for me to want to move this site over.
I'm not real sure I like this new update... I don't like change, thats why I wear the same underware for a minimum of 3 weeks before flipping them inside out for the next 3 weeks

I've read about it, it does have a long way to go but your right about 4.0, I'm still working bugs out.
