Why a garret over a Borg warner? Just curious, borgs are a lot cheaper and easier to get parts for. Are the garrets are still liquid cooled?

Ball bearing Garretts are, but the journal bearing center sections are oil cooled. The reason is because ball bearing turbos use an inlet restriction to keep the oil pressure going into it at an acceptable level (ball bearing turbos don't need as much oil as a journal bearing turbo). Because of this there isn't enough oil to adequately cool the center section. To remedy it, Garrett makes their ball bearing turbos liquid cooled also. What I can't tell you is why the stock Garrett turbos in our trucks are liquid cooled and journal bearing.
