550 cca sounds a little low but worth a shot if you keep a jump pack around. might wear the battery out quicker than normal. if you have not already i would get rid of the intake air heater if you drop to a single battery.

Mines starting fine with one and no grid heater. It's been done to 17 deg here and all well. I have seen light weight batteries with higher cracking amps then that one and lite

i dont have the intake air heater anymore. Also i read up on their batteries and they rate them diffrent. the 550CCA is taken at 0 degrees like normal but they rate it at 11.5 volts where most do it at 7.5 volts. I read something on it earlier. Also all there specs is what the battery would put out for 30 seconds. so it would put at 550CCA at 0 degrees for 30 seconds. i read somewhere at 10 seconds they put at a few hundred for cranking amps. They are rated for 892 CA @ 30 seconds cranking but are rated at 1380 CA @ 5 seconds cranking.

Thanks for the input Henry. Im thinking about dropping the 2 stock batteries since they are bad and trying one of these. the stockers have to be around 80+ LBS

if you did this which on would you remove? the pass side is closer to the alt and starter but the drivers side is closer to the underhood fuse box.
