Say you have an older, slower computer, with a smallish power supply, and have no intention of playing Space Ninjas 3D on it. Nor do you want the fan buzzing at full blast 24/7 or to see any difference in your electric bill. Nor do you want to learn DOS or babysit your computer.

The most punch in FAH is the Graphics Card. High power models can generate over 15,000 PPD, but they are loud, need a big power supply, are expensive, and won't fit in the smaller desktops that are very common today.

Look at user Anonymous. That is an nVidia GT220 video card that costs $51.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134089&cm_re=GT_220-_-14-134-089-_-Product

When nobody was in the office, I put a GT220 in my general manager's computer, and he doesn't even know anything at all has changed, and he works on the computer 9-10 hours a day.

It runs the FAH GPU3 client - http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGPUGuide#ntoc2 which is simple to install, and requires no passkey. Once you fill in your username and team (195247), and start it, you never have to do anything with it at all. It will start when you start your computer, shut off when you turn off your computer, and restart where it left off when you start up again, so it doesn't have to be run 24/7 (although if you run 1/2 the time, it would 1000 PPD).

The "bonus" is that if you do not have a dedicated video card in your computer, Windows will run a BUNCH faster on everything. The card will allow you to run 2 monitors if you so choose.
