Ok I know its on a CumminZ, but there is a guy on Duramax Forums that has them on Dmax. Anybody ever thought of doing this? Let me know what you think of them.

The Duramax with the side pipes. Not sure if the pics will work, but here is the link. It is an 08 Crew Cab, Gray metallic in color about half way down.

There is a Ford running around here with them too. It looks pretty clean. Frame clearance may be an issue on a Dmax. Not sure you could bring it out at the front of the door without it hanging low. Just thinking out loud here.

You need a stack. I just happen to know a guy that took one off recently.;)

definitely looks good... have some concerns though, like getting out in the summer with shorts on after romping on it. The ol' back of the calves could be hating life if you had a mental slip and forgot. Same with little kids and women. In general, it just doesn't seem to be a real "people friendly" thing to do. Then again, maybe thats a good thing... keep the woman from riding in it and nagging about the lack of quality in the ride or the noise or the playing AND keep the crumb droppers out as well. :D In return, you get the good looks, and a cleaner interior because of it. Plus you'll always be riding alone and all the chicks will think you're single and childless. :angel:

Seriously, though, it doesn't seem real good. Good thought at first and certainly looks killer (only on a dually IMO though) but just not to practical. :rolleyes:

my truck rides like a caddy compared to the wifes mustang, and the mustang has a lot more road noise too :D

Did I mention that the stang was sloooooooower too :rofl:

I guess if you read into it, he ran 4 inch pipe wrapped in heat sheild tape to cut down on the outside pipe heating up.

I am not going to do this to my truck, but thought it looked interesting.

It might have its place on the right truck like a dually but other than that, naaaah not for me. And i know from experiance with my Rear side exit, a perfect clean wheel will look like ass in about 2 days from exhaust, its a pain in the ass, im stackin mine!:D

I only got the Ford pictures but i think it looks cool helps stretch it out and make it look lower by "soaking up" the margin between the ground and truck.

What happens when she takes that lowered beast into a gas station with a steep approach?:eek: scrap pinch oh sheeeet? honey backabackup!

On a DMAX you could run them between the cab and the frame rail, up higher.

As for exhaust, I am very picky. I don't like side exit exhaust that exits ahead of the rear tire. I like stock exit and duals. Stacks are another tricky thing, single slash cut 6" leading edge level with the cab coming through the bed and up in the stock location is nice on the "right" truck. Same goes for dual stacks slash cut on the "right" truck.
Told you I was picky. I guess I see to many cumminGs running around with turnout stacks 2' higher than the cab :joker:
