ok everyonce in a while she slips , every once in awhile she does the "range shift inhibited" and i got a nice list of codes .
po841-front transmission fluid sensor - not low on dipstick
po843-A circuit
po875-D circuit
PO700- transmission control system , stored history and pending
This mornin was rather cold 15 ish degrees and i had to rev her up to like 2000 rpm to move<yesterday morn was colder and not a lick of issues> when parking she wouldn't go into reverse<range shift inhibited> . I left her at a 45 in 2 parking spots went into waffle house sipped coffee and ate breakfast come back out expecting to push her out of spot and low and behold i got reverse and no more issues other than check engine illuminated . Got home put groceries up and headed to parts house to get codes ran and check engine light was off so whaddya think of this situation?

Hell no dont sell the truck now is when it gets fun get a nice big trans kit and away we go:happy2: Then a nice big turbo to work that new trans a little.If you have a good solid truck with no other issuses do the tras and enjoy the truck hopfully mike l will tell you to change the switch on the side of the trans for a fix but if you have to go deeper .......atleast you know what you have JMO

thanks blk , i guess my decision to go duramax isn't in vane lol i just need her to be dependable DAILY as i make a living with her . Dependability is why i chose duramax hopefully i chose right , I know a few rice burners whom have looked twice as they read my trailer's liscence plate lol maybe why i have tranny issues?

ok so i cross refrenced my codes with the sticky <awesome info> here at the forum . I now understand why mike says start with filter - cause the codes together result in mechanical <not electrical > failure. truck is shop right now for pm plus tranny filter change hopefully it all irons out . The question is why do Alli's seem to dislike temps under 30 so much? Truck has dex 6 in her, is it not designed for thickness in colder weather?

^ listen to the sheperd :rofl: i ran dex 6 then flushed it all an went back to dex 3 and noticed a difference in shifting quality though i never had codes

ok i was reading another thread <yeah some of us fng's do read before posting lol> mike mentioned something about additives in conjunction with dex-III . Then mentioned something about his fave not being made anymore . So If I go and have full tranny flush and go with Dex_III do i need an additive or is there an additive to dex-VI that will perform similarly to the dex-III? Sittin here waiting to get truck back from pm , hoping filter helps

update- replaced both filters left shop drove 1 block to gas station to get some smokes while pulling into a parking spot she did the whole range shift inhibited while still rolling didnt have any gear ! my cc lb looked funny sticking way out into pump traffic flow , piss on em , shut truck off went in got my stuff come out fired up the truck and haven t lost a gear yet , one shift was off going from 2nd to third and lit up check engine light but she seems to be working <for now>
