Killed the biggest buck I've ever killed on monday. He's an 8 pt. that measures about 135". Shot him monday evening. Didn't find him till the next morning, but not before the coyotes did.

Got quite a few pics of him last year. His whole main beam was broke off on the left side. Didn't get any pics of him this year till the 15th of Nov., but have quite a few since he finally showed his face.

Thanks. My buddy that is mounting him has an extra cape already. But I appreciate the offer. I'd say your Ohio cape would swallow my OK one:rofl:

yeah it came from a big 160 inch deer! But it doesn't really matter cause you would just order the correct form and mount your horns to it. But it would look like a big ohio buck! Thats cool i will keep him in the freezer:D

That's a nice looking deer. Too bad you didn't get any meat out of it.

A few years ago I was hunting at the deer lease my dad was on. He had a deer feeder setup with some cattle panels around it. Anyway, I'd been sitting in the stand for about an hour or a little more, and a decent buck comes walking up on the other side of the feeder from where I was. He'd been there for a while and didn't act like he wanted to walk around to the other side of the feeder. I wanted to shoot him because he was standing broadside to me, but I was worried I would hit one of the wires on the cattle panel. I finally convinced myself that the odds of me hitting one of those wires was pretty slim. I got the shot lined up and squeezed the round off, and wouldn't you know it he ran. Luckily he was bleeding enough that I could track him pretty easily. He ran about 300 yards or so before he dropped. Later, we went out to check the feeder, and wouldn't you know it, I just nicked the bottom of one of the wires. I probably couldn't have hit it if I was trying, but that's how it goes.

Yeah I've done that shooting through the brush before. Looks like a clear shot through the scope, but you'll hit that one limb every time.

I have seen does every time I've been out this year. After I lost the meat off him, I was gonna shoot a doe for some meat, but wouldn't you know it, didnt see another deer.

My dad shot a little buck year before last at 7:30 one morning. We found it at 11:30 and ran the coyotes off of it. They had picked the trail up somewhere and chased him up a hill through the woods. We trailed him about 3/4 mile. They had almost eaten the whole thing already.

nice buck man! congrats.

i just got done with my first hunting trip of the season. i had EXACTLY the same thing happen to me. shot the buck and he took off. it was in the evening so the light faded fast. we continued the search the next morning after our morning hunt. and after killing a doe (only weekend in that county to shoot doe) found the buck about 400 yards away and some coyotes ate part of his rear 1/4's:mad:
ill post a pic of it if i can get it off of my phone

Nice man NOW go trap some song dogs! Dad has caught 8 coyotes here in the last 3 weeks. They are crazy thick.

No need to trap here, just shoot the SOB's:D We usually kill at least 5 or 6 yotes during deer season. My dad shot 1 during blackpowder, but that's the only 1 we have seen. Hear em every night though...
