We finally got started reassembling the shop drag truck project Darth Vader this weekend. We 4 linked the rear for no other reason other then weight savings and why not. There is still a ton to do but at least the rear is back where it's supposed to be. The goal is to have it weigh in around 5800 pounds with driver. It should have plenty of fuel and air. I'm most excited because It will be a great way for us to test transmission ideas.

I can't wait to see this done. In a few years my 05 lly will be paid off and I'll be out of school so at that point I'd like to buy a tow pig and then convert my ccsb to a linked super short bed. Wheelbase around 133(scsb length). But mine is. 2wd

How much weight did you shed off the bed gutting it like that

I'm not sure I didn't weigh it but all that's left now are bedsides which don't weigh much. Even with the framework to attach the bedsides it's won't amount to much. The rest of the chromoly tubing showed up today so I'll be able to build the rest of the frame and roll cage.
