my 03 dirty will lock into 3rd gear and show shift range inhibited on cluster during heavy throttle use, loaded or empty. have to pull over, shut down, and restart engine to reset. often requires multiple shutdowns and restarts

fuel filter is fine. didn't use code reader the message shows up on the gauge cluster. if anyone can figure this out i would like to hear it. both the ecm and tcm were replaced and a new transmission was installed by allison technicians.
Mike is telling you to use a scanner to read what codes come up. What shows up on the dic isn't enough information. When you have the codes he can help you figure out the issue
ok just got back from the shop, transmission codes: P0848 Transmission pressure switch solenoid D circuit high; P0875 transmission pressure switch reverse circuit; P0701 transmission control system out of range
How much power are you running? You limped the trans in 5th gear..more than likely from to much power.
Sounds like a voltage problem. p0701 is no pressure. Since you've done the trans we will assume it has clean filters and not blocked. Check ign. switch and voltage to trans. Check it with KOEO and running. It better have 12V or better to solenoids.
