Just asking if it would be ok to simply raise my WOT TowHaul shift rpm from 3200 to 3400 without screwing with anything else? Its the stock 2001 TCM programming, nothing messed with.
TBIQ (B0727) is 110, no change from 3200 to 3400.
TLIQ (B0741) is 100, no change from 3200 to 3400.
MIFQ (B0740) is same as stock, drops from 12 @ 2500 to 10 @ 3000 to 8 @3500.
Pulse is 2400 and timing is 27^ at 3400rpm.

I read some older threads concerning this but did not get a sense of what was what. If its more complicated than just raising rpm, then I'll just leave well enough alone.

Tom, on the last lb7 I had alls I did was raise rpm and mph in my tcm. If the ecm is set to run the rpm your looking to run at then I think your ok just do what i did. Worked just fine or me.

On my 6 speed I raised the RPMs by the % needed to get it to shift at the RPM I wanted. Then did the same to the MPH. IIRC I left them stock on 1st and 2nd because the RPMs rised so fast I was blowing by the shift point and hitting the "rev limiter".

Update. Even though my times sucked, the shift changes were a bright spot.

I ended up raising the rpm to 3450 on all shifts. Raised mph by 1 for 1-2, 2 for 2-3, 3 for 3-4 and 4 for 4-5. Shifts were crisp except for a delay in 4-5. I think dropping rpm down a bit and mph by 1 should help.

I would check the log to find out exactly where you are shifting at and adjust by that.. Not just go off of what efi live says is going to happen. That is how you really need to do it, some may shift at 3500 when you ask for 3400, so you should set it to shift at 3300 so it compenstate and shift at 3400. Just how was explained to me, because appearently its quite common.. Just my 2 cents

Just giving some advise. Before you make sarcastic remarks, talk to a professional tuner and see what they say. I know your pissed off at me right now for something stupid, but don't just laugh until you know for sure what your talking about. What I posted is true in many cases, that is why some tuners don't have "off the self" or "base" transmission tunes..

Usually changing in the TCM is all that is needed. In most cases the 1-2 shift needs to be lower than what you want by 100-200 to achieve the rpm shift that you want. All the others should shift within 25 rpm's or so of what you want if everything is right in your other tuning.

Ben, Im not pissed at you for any reason. Your advice is sound. I put the laughing smiley there because I had overlooked that fact and you were right.
