I don't post much, but I read a lot, so my apologies if this is a re-post....

Anyway, came across this reading the sports pages a few days ago and thought it might be of interest (and annoyance?) to some that read this section:

http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar...ory?id=5048652

Of particular note (i.e. the Cliff Notes):

"The lawsuit alleges that between November 2005 and August 2008, Simpson instructed an Impact employee to have an Asian vendor produce counterfeit SFI labels that were affixed to various products, including seat belts, arm restraints, fire suits, head socks, gloves and boots.

SFI plans to decertify those Impact products made during that time, Yarbrough said."

I bought one of their helmets in the Summer of '06, but it's not getting decertified...I was a bit nervous at 1st about having a $700 doorstop...

I sure hope Simpson/Impact has to pay boo-coo $$ in fines for endangering the racing community for that BS. They should even be made to recall or buy back all said products with the false labels.

Who wants to bet the "Asian vendor" is in China?

That's pretty crummy , I would not have expected it from a respectable safety equipment manufacture like Simpson :(
