The T bars were all the way up when I bought my truck, and just got around to lowering the front end. How far down are you guys going for daily driving, right now my CV's are level, but I might rise it a little bit, because the tires almost rub, the tires are 265/75/16.

If you want to launch in 4wd, take the bolts out. When you move those bolts it messes with the alignment. FWIW I have the same size tires with mine all the way out and they don't rub at all.

Thats a sure way to break them.

Go buy yourself a dozen large washers. Get your truck to whatever height you have it set for normal driving, measure how far out the bolts are, pull the bolts, add the appropriate amount of washers and reinstall.. That way when you lower the bars, you can put them back exactly how you had them set.

BTW, leave the bolts in, just take them down until the key rests on the stop. Put about 1/8-1/4" preload back on the pass side one.

Or spray paint the bolt is what I do

What's the reasoning for adding alittle preload to the passengers side? I've never taken them all the way out, just adjusted them for larger tires and never really had an issue. I'm curious because my 07 DMax had less thread starting out than the drivers side did. Got it realigned after adjusting but never really understood why one side was different. My dads 05 they are both the same he's never touched them. Does it vary in the years? My 04 LLY measures the same but seems to pull right, you think I need alittle more adjusting? I made them equal length as they were different starting out but it felt as if it leaned slightly to the drivers side. Not sure what to do either. Maybe you guys could help. Thanks

Amount of threads drivers to passenger side is because of fuel tank and driver weight....drivers side needs more preload to compensate.

As for preloading the pass side for racing, its something that Rob told me years ago. I saw no downside to doing it as it did help with front end at launch.

Preload on passenger side is the same concept as putting hang weight on the drivers side for sled pulling, its to offset the chassis twist from the engine...

X2 on breaking them. Learned the hard way that you have to jack the truck up to tighten them:banging:

Okay, i ordered a 1 or 2in drop shackles, the truck is going in for an alignment sometime soon and to get the balljoints replaced. How much different is there need to be between the right and left side to keep the front level, also will fine to tow with it dropped 2 inches or should I go with 1 inch. I will be towing a bit, mostly under 5k, but some skidloader and other equipment. How will these effect the ride.

My buddy Levi has 2" drop shackles on the rear and the front t-bars lowered and still hauls his toy hauler around without issue. Think his weighs in round 6-7k

I have 2" shackles still haul my TT (6-7k) and other stuff here and there no problems.

To get the front level just measure each side, make sure each sides same height. I just used a tape measure to bottom of fender
