Well I sprayed the dirty for the first time and shreaded my belt. My buddy's LB7 did the same thing. Anybody know what causes this. Approx. 50,000 miles on it.

Could be you have a worn tensioner, and it couldnt keep up at higher RPM.

I lost a belt once too....no PS/PB at the end of the 1/4 is rather interesting. Thank God I always carry a spare.

Mine didn't completely come off but one more shot would have done it. I've got about 25-30 runs on motor with no problems at all. As soon as the spray hit it started shreddin. I saw this happen with a brand new belt as well. Thanks for the replies!

I really think it has something to do with cyntrifical force steve. I think when ya spray it, that it get's things moving so fast that the tensioner looses tension for a moment, and then the belt jumps a groove and shred's. I replaced my tensioner and pulley's and it still did it. Once I put on a Gatorback belt I had no more issues.

Did you happen to get a video of the 12sec run?

Really?

The Gatorback is a good belt. Makes that annoying shut down squeak go away too.

Has Anyone got a P/N for that Gatorback?
Also is it the same for all the classic trucks?

I had the same problem just replaced my tensioner pulley assembly, an no more problem, easy to install cost around $80 give or take if u get any discounts. check the the tensionor with the engine running at idle an see if the mark on the main housing lines up between the 2 marks on the idler arm, if it doesn't replace it, IMO

I just replaced my tensioner pulley and the belt jumps off track within 50 miles still. Only other thing it could be is idler pulleys so i guess i'll be trying them next.
