 (maybe)

From one money pit to another. I have to find out who's Vette this is. I haven't seen it around. If I decide I'll have to call and talk to Teddy and see what's up.
It's gotta be a rocket ship IMO! I'd have to register it out of state for taxes and insurance that;s for-sure. Don't give me no bullshit about cheating out my local DMV or Govt either!

Anyway check it out here.

Go for it? Seems like a good price. :D

How about a vin check? Anyone?

I recall back when I had my 95 Vette the cost to insure it here in CT was almost double what it cost me to register in VT. That was even with the multi car discount ,home and insuring it total recreational use less than 5000 miles per year. It was based on ,so I was told here,on population density. The way it was explained to me ,so many cars and individuals (drivers) per square mile and the possibility of getting into a accident. Kind of makes sense.

There is no property tax in VT on motor-vehicles also. Here in CT you pay mill rate set by the town my town I believe it's $31.00 dollars for every $1000 dollars of 70% of market value.

Example $60,000 FMV = $42,000 taxable at $31 dollars per $1000 means a yearly tax bill of $1302.00 dollars!

Plus the sales tax thanks to our F'n Governor (6.35) plus perhaps a Luxury tax,but idunnano.

The one that is stupid expensive for me to insure is the CTS-V. Good thing it's a work vehicle:woott:

Yes you are PUNISHED for having nice stuff. This is off-topic but my biggest pet-peeve besides this (property tax) although it falls into the same category is also residential taxes ,taxed by the way same 70% of FMV at current mill rate $31 per $1000. Example $300,000 = 70% @ $31 per $1000 = $210,000 taxable or a $6510 per year tax bill.

WTF!

My thought is you have a couple nice cars and a decent house and your paying astronomical taxes as the guy next door with a house worth half yours and two rusted up Pintos and yet you drive the same roads and receive the exact same town services that I do!

The don't plow my side of the road any better than his nor do they pick up the garbage at my house twice a week and his only once a week. In addition if my house goes up in flames they don't send twice the fire trucks nor if I have my wife by the throat do they send twice the cops to protect her in a domestic dispute! :)D) Yes I'm being funny I would never ever do that!

So tell what is the incentive to buy a new car or a bigger nicer house if your just going to be punished in the end?

Really pisses me off!

A little birdie told me the rear control arm went AWOL and the car bounced like a pinball against the guard rails at 80-mph and damages were about $34000...............

Better get a CARFAX history and see if the PO bought an ESCALADE because if it's the same person he just stuffed his ESKY so bad it needs a frame............

If you get me the PO's name I will check with my buddy at the bodyshop.

don't mind the a/f on the dyno sheet, it wasnt working correctly so he used his own. the car will make more power than it did on this pull as well. from a 4th gear roll on the interstate it can make the 335's go up in smoke. drives/sounds like a stock-ish vette.

Ok I was still looking into this until I seen this. Besides this my wife isn't to happy :)D) if I chose to make this swap as she didn't like my 95 anyway. This would only be worse but ultimately it is my decision.

Now Tony you seem to be in the know was this a locally owned car a PO? When you say PO do you mean a Johnny Law individual owned it? If it had that much damage done to it then I'm not going to pursue it. IMO there has to be some catch as the price seems off ,off more than the economy slump would dictate IMO.

Yes it is in Naugy

I hear ya 100% no doubt the truck is very versatile. It can tow it can be used as a pick up and it has enough power to haul ass and get me in enough trouble as it is. Would be great to be able to keep the truck but I don't need any more part time vehicles I already have to many and to add another? Can't do it between taxes insurance and registration.

I have the truck that I drive less than 5k a year in,my Harley which I hardly rode this summer than I have the Audi that has been sitting in the garage that I didn't even put 500 miles on it this year. I really want to get rid of the car but wrong time.

In addition with the truck and it's age and the unknown future of the injectors and now that it's running excellent it might be the right time to sell. Guess I'm just looking for a change and not looking to go backwards with performance then I seen this car but at the moment looks like it might not be the right choice.

A new truck isn't a option especially diesel not to mention the cost of the truck and the fuel cost but hot rodding ,well easily hotrodding a new diesel as of right now isn't really an option. The thought of starting over building a transmission and all that na not for me so it would have to remain stock which is in itself boring.

So the thought of getting a hotrod late model car might be a better option. Perhaps not this one tho.

I was at my buddy's body shop Saturday, I dropped off a cord of wood I cut up after the OCT storm, I have known this guy for 25 years, he had a stuffed ESKY and I asked what happened, it was almost new and needed a full frame, he said the guy that owned it just unloaded his Z06 for it.

Didn't think anything of it until he told me it was supercharged and made 700HP and was more than he could handle, especially since he crashed it really bad.

So it seemed to me kinda funny that you posted a link, how many SC/Z06 vettes in CT could there be just traded in ???

Get me a name of the PO and I will call him and find out for sure.

Missed this post PO? What does PO stand for ? I'll prolly go dah but I'm drawing a blank. If you mean Police Officer or Parole Officer I don't know how or why that's coming up!

Or maybe you mean previous owner, just came to me. Don't know if I can get that but perhaps I'll try.
