Seen quite a few trucks running.g them with no complaints. I don't, but in my mind, as long as the stacks tall enough, you shouldn't have a problem seeing past it. I would think a short stack and a heavily fueled truck might be different, but like I said, I don't have one.

Most tracks I've been to the tree is far enough forward that it wouldn't even become an issue...

Almost would be a danger if the light was that close to you with having to turn your head.

Granted I don't have one....but I wouldn't foresee and issue....unless it was a strong tailwind and its dirty tuning ll

How hard is it to see the tree in the left lane with a hood stack?

Eric, I havent had any issues. My stack is shorter than most.

HaHa, I sat there for a while looking at the cutoff wheel and back to fenders on my baby, when I put my cutout bushwhackers on. The first cut is hardest, after that it was F it i'm committed now:D

I only did a little dragracing with a hood stack, but I don't remember there being a problem.

You can either:

Pin your hood at all four corners (takes 2 people to remove),

Keep the hinges, and cut an oval hole (two things happen, engine rotates in bay under load, but mainly when hood swings open, it comes towards the exhaust),

Put a short extension on the exhaust at the hood point. Remove the extension to lift the hood.

I went with an oval opening. I put some rubber/metal trim flashing from McMaster Carr on the cut edges to avoid getting cuts when handling the hood.

The only time I ever had an issue seeing the tree was in a SuperGas car, because it had a tunnel ram and a 2' high hood scoop.
