Ever since I bought Abby its had the security light on the dash

the previous owner said the truck was brokon into ( damn thieves )
they used a screw driver and pushed the DS lock cylinder in

A freind used his tech 2 and said the code was coming from the door lock and could not shut it off?

Today i pulled the plastic molding off and unplugged the connection to the lock....This didnt change anything:(

ANyone know how to fix this? I just want the stupid light to go away

I would think you have to do a security relearn on the truck to get it to go away, but if Tony knows whats causing it, I hope his fix helps you.

Yes Tony it is:)

You have to force a RR ECM power down momentarily by cycling between flash and emulation mode. There is an icon next to the emulation icon

Diesel RR's do not have a flash chip, it works best when the truck is idling is the driveway and in park.

You can also force it by getting a large power inverter and while the truck is running turn it on causing the truck to "hiccup" as the cigarette lighter power ports are not big enough to handle the momentary draw causing a hiccup.

When I am tuning I use direct connections to the battery for my inverter to avoid any issues.

You can also try a full flash download while not in emulation mode causing a stall condition.

I found this out by accident.........., I had a truck and forgot to have the RR in emulation when I downloaded a change, it caused the problem I described to eliminate the Security Light.

Anything that momentarily interrupts the RR power supply will fix it usually.

:D

It just keeps popping up can not disable PCM checksum:confused:

Ill try to get a big inverter and hook up something that will draw a lot of power:)
