Had my second pull last night at the county fair. Ended up placing 6th out of 21 trucks. Not as good in the plasing as last year (took third, although I was in third at the time of my pull and got bumped down), but I pulled 303', which was 3' better than last year and on the same exact setup and tires with even less tread than last year, so I'm not complaining. Not to shabby for a second pull considering my truck really isn't set up for pulling and my tires don't have much tread on them. Especially considering there were some trucks that also sounded mean, had big meaty tires and *looked* better set up than me that could barely cross 250.
The funny thing is for a LONG time, the top 4 trucks were all Duramaxes. Took a while for a Ford and a Dodge to cross the 300' line and enter the top 6. It seemed like with the exception of the one Ford and One dodge, there was a Ford/Dodge Barrier that prevented virtually all of them from crossing the 300' line .
The strange thing is at the end of the pull, the motor just died. I looked down and noticed the CEL, then that the tach was on 0 and was like WTF? It re-sterted just fine and there were no codes. Looking at the log that I took (unlike last year when I forgot to log it ), it looks like hte torque converter remained locked for about half a second after I took my foot off the throttle. When I took my foot off, engine RPMs went up about 250RPM, then took a nosedive from 3400 to dead. Anyone had something like that happen?
Also found it seems my rear diff isn't locking any more... Had the right rear tire spinning at the end. How are Torsens for pulling?
