I went to the 'Goshen Stampede' one of the bigger events up this way for the pulls and to really see how the new motor would hold up to some abuse... well motor ran like a champ!!! 1st place pulls back to back all afternoon.... until my engine driven air compressor clutch seized up and caught on fire lol
on my last pull of the day truck was bogging and acting like shit and i pulled off the track figuring i clogged a fuel filter and started airing up my tires while the last couple guys were finishing up their pulls before our trek home when i smelled something burning and noticed the smoke coming out from under the hood and into the cab, so immediatley shut down the truck and the clutch was cherry red and the belt was starting to melt and the oil from the compressor was on fire. SWEET!.... not really lol so good thing i carry spare belts to bypass the compressor and a cooler full of melted ice to cool it off...
but hey at least my motor ran like a raped ape was running 4000rpm at 30mph wheel speed consistently. biggest problem was traction on 315/70/17 bfgs lol with my fronts at 18 and rears at 26 track was really dry and not well groomed at all but fun
pull videos to follow; and no i have no pics of the fire.... i put the fire out instead of taking pictures / video of it so i could pull my truck another day
