Hey all, so I'm trying to think up a lift pump system here using the kennedy diesel pump, the kit's hes got on there are pretty pricey when you add in the fuel filter head plus pumps.

I did a quick ebay search and found some fuel filter heads for about $30 that will fit the CAT or donaldson filters on it which is what I want, so the question is are these fuel filter heads good enough or is there a reason to buy the $100 fuel filter heads like he supplies. or if there is any other options let me know.

if you want to know more, I play to run a single kennedy lift pump with my stock filter still in place (CAT filter now) with the primer, and then a second filter with a water seperator (Donaldson) somewhere near the pump.

this would be going on a lightly tuned truck if it makes any difference, no high HP, just a +90whp EFI tune ontop of stock and small bolt ons (exhaust intake ect.)

here is a link to one of those cheap filter heads I found, only difference I can see is the inlet is smaller than the expensive ones but other then that I don't see how this could fail or be worse besides the fact of not getting a bit more fuel through.

That's what I'm going to do. His kits are nice because it's all in one. But I'm gonna run a double filter setup on the rail after the pump with a water separator and filter. And delete the factory housing. I think wix/Napa has some good deals on theories. I wanna say <$30

Try to design your set up to have the water separator on the vacuum side of the pump. It aids in the separation

I'm running a Kennedy unit as well.i got his delxue single kit and added two hastings heads pre/post. I used soft line but plan on something different later on. used a Baldwin fws pre pump and a Baldwin filter post, another Baldwin sits up at the factory position. The only real thing I had to do was weld on an extension to his bracket for the second filter head.

You'll want the fws before the pump to make best use of it. Pull through the separator and push through the fuel filter. I think all in I was just about 500
