Does anyone run seafoam in their oil? I am going to change my oil Sunday and thought I might run some through there til then to clean some of the sludge out but I'm always nervous to pour anything in the crank case other than oil.

ive done it on gas engines with good results but i havent tried it on a diesel engine. my moms van popped a head gasekt once and it had a bunch of coolant in the oil and you could see it was all nasty when you pulled the oil fill cap off. i poured some seafoam in there and the next weekend did the head gaskets. it did a pretty good job cleaning everything up

I did it when i first bought my dually to flush the system, I ran it for one day to work and back....about 50 miles. Ran fine with it in it.

If you use the stuff properly, think it does good.

My oil is pretty clean now. But need to do an analysis.

i use it all the time, in all my cars and trucks, this last winter i ran a full can in the crankcase, as per instructions of oz/qt for the duration of an oil change, it ran awesome, and i think it removed alot of engine contaminants/sludge, but have no scientific data to back up that claim, in the summer/warmer weather and towing, i dont think i would run a whole can for 3500-5000 miles though, and pre oil change only applications i run real hard for 100mi and change it hot!

I use it every oil change. I pour a whole bottle in the fuel tank, and a whole bottle in the oil and go through a full tank of fuel, then go change my oil.

Or you can run an engine flush. A 5 weight glycol cleaner. run for 7 mins. breaks down any sludge build up on pan sidewalls if any and than re-drain and add the new oil
