Opinions on SDP Built Trans? It seems to be a better-priced built trans than others. It comes with a goerend billet torque converter. Opinions on it?
If it were me I would kick the can down the road, I ran tunes similar to what your wanting for 2-3 years on a stock trans beating the crap out of it. Sure it will go eventually but you may as well get the good out of it and it may last you 5 years, I highly doubt you will be as hard on it as I was mine.Southwest Missouri area. I wont take it to a normal tranny shop. I was gonna find soemoen within 3 hrs out me that specalizes in allisons. Thre is a pulling shop who builds competitive transmissions around me I guess so I may find there phone number and give them a call. I dont plan on doing to much. Truck will stay stock fual and air for a long time. I plan on my top hp tune to just be like a 125 tune so I dont need a crazy built tranny but I want something that will hold up. Mine has 308k miles on it but never skips a beat and the motor is making more power than ever now with a new motor in it and a lot more mods.
It would be hard to be any harder than I am on it. I race everyone and there grandma even if they arnt racing me. The only thing I wont do is do a 4wd launch. If it were me I would kick the can down the road, I ran tunes similar to what your wanting for 2-3 years on a stock trans beating the crap out of it. Sounds like we are in the same boat then haha, I don't think I ever drove the truck that the skinny pedal didn't get put to the floor at least once and usually more than once. Now that it makes a lot more power and I have gotten older, I take it a tiny bit easier on her..It would be hard to be any harder than I am on it.
