What do you guys know about Schaeffers 7000 15-40 oil? I have the opportunity to buy it for about $16.00 a gal.
Who runs it? how do you like it? Is it better than Amsoil?(which I am running now) Or other brands?
Guy said it was green in color, not brown.

I don't remember the color, but I am running it. The motor seems quieter than when it had rotella in it when I bought it. Better than amsoil, I don't know. I am getting some free oil samples, that's why I bought it. I am also running a motorkote additive.:)

For whatever it's worth, I am going to run amsoil's best in my differentials along with motorkote. I have run amsoil gear lube and I know it works, so for sure I am running that.:thumb:

I talked to a schaeffers rep at a pull saturday. I was wondering the same thing as I run Amsoil now. Amazing how in all Amsoils test/comparisons Schaeffers is never included.
The price point is there, I just want to see some results.

The price point is certainly there. Two oil changes for $100 or one for $72(amsoil).
My friend said when the rep came to the landfill he brought two new bearings and put them in a vice with a hand crank. He added the grease they were using and some water, applied pressure and turned the crank. He said it did not take long for the bearing to become hard to turn. Then they did the same with the Schaeffers and the bearing remained easy to move. All was done by hand.
My friend is not known to lie about such things so I don't know but I'm kinda like the people from Missouri, you have to show me.

The other thing is I,m not too keen on a 10K mile change interval. I might could see 5K-6K but with the fuel and soot being an issue in diesels I'm not comfortable with long drain intervals.
I pay $13 for a gallon of Mobil Delvac so $16 is pretty good to go to syn. I think
