Well my truck has been idling with a slight lope to it. Used to do it with the predator when i bought it, was hoping it was just the crappy tuning of that programmer lol. Been running a couple different efi live tunes now in the past couple weeks and there's no improvement to be found so figured i better check my balance rates and the rail pressure at idle. Rail jumps between 27 and 42 lol so i def need a new regulator. #6 injector is also not looking too promising. I'm gonna do the FPR first and then scan it again, but most likely i'll be changing that injector soon.

Better get it done before i head for Florida with it:rofl:

Try some 2 stroke oil...

That's not gonna fix that FPR... lol
I'm not looking for a temporary bandaid, if something's broke, it's gonna get fixed/upgraded. Now i coulda went with the LBZ FPR like i just did on my racetruck but didn't feel like figuring the 1010 table out again so i just ordered the LLY regulator. It's good enough for this truck anyways, not gonna get much power out of it for quite a while.

really because running 2 stroke oil cured an LLY and LB7 local to me... my #5 injector was sticking closed, ran 2 stroke and cured my problem.

Interesting. How much do u dump in there?
I can see it maybe freeing up injectors but i doubt it's gonna fix an fpr.

if there is a build up of debris in a FPR it will help lubricate the moving parts and could potentially fix the issue. I dumped 1 qt of 2 stroke to 5 gallons of fuel 3 times and my problem was solved. Has been fine for 8 months or so?

That's quite a bit, maybe i'll give er a try, can't hurt anything and maybe that balance rate on the #6 injector will go down some. So 4-5 quarts to a tank?

ya i mean hell i'd run it down to 1/4 tank and throw a qt in. I have witnessed a truck (LB7) with 3 injectors out of spec -7- -8 go back to spec... for 6 dollars its worth a shot

If you really want to clean it out throw 4 qts of atf + 2 qts of 2 stroke + a bottle of Power Service in 1/2 tank of fuel. I have done this on a few trucks and it has helped smooth idle and balance rates.

Had the same issue. Put a quart to a full tank of gas twice.Fixed my surging too.Make sure to use ashless oil tw3

super diesel

Cheap ATF, cheap motor oil, 2 stroke oil, hydraulic oil,,,,,pick your flavor. The same results and it ALL burns. Synthetics burn white unless under racing (heavy power apps). Some remember when I made a 2K trip on NOTHING but motor oil, ATF, trans fluid, hydraulic oil and mineral spirits back in 05. I don't recommend this, but it will do it. You get coking on the injects with too much though. This is where my oil changes go (fuel tank).

Think of it as this. Would you run your motor on nothing but diesel fuel in the crank case? Well that's what were doing to the injection pump (little motor with pistons, valves, and a crank) and injectors (very high speed moving parts). Put some lube in the fuel to help with lubricating the injection system. Keep it all freed up and moving smooth.

I always have recommended a quart per fill (every fill) and have used this since the 80s in all the diesels I've owned over the years. Never been nothing but benefits.
