Scan and diagnostic tools

was just curious what everyone is using for scan tools on the diesel trucks?
i just demoed a Snap-On Solus and was very pleased with it. I was able to do cylinder cut out tests and check everything i wanted. The shop i'm working at just demoed the auto enginuity one for the PC, it worked all right. So the guys here were looking into the OTC Genisys EVO, and was wondering how that one has worked out for anyone?? The real main concern is the ability to do injector cut-out tests, and really beable to monitor anything to do with the diesels.

The solus is tits! Stay away from the genesys, its very slow and limited as to what it can do. I use efi love for the dmax's I work on. For the fords I have used auto ingenuity and solus.

I also like the Solus. The new 11.4 software will even fast learn the Allison like a Tech 2.

Solus is what we use and it works great. It will work on just about anything.

i have a modis and i like it a lot for non GM stuff (tech2 and MDI for that).

I use a solace for the most part, sometimes i use the modis if i need a scope I heard the new solace ultra is the fastest scan tool snap on has..

I have a solus and a verus. I like the solus for quick easy diagnostics. I prefer my verus for more in depth testing with graphs and lab scope features.

ya i got to play with the snap-on solus ultra a bit more and i really like it. was curious if anyone has used them on the powerstrokes or the cummins?? i need to be able to work on all of them. something that can cut out injectors. I found that auto enginuity to be alittle hard to use, but then again i only used it for an hour or two.

snowman- i believe my solus ultra can do cylinder contribution ( injector cut out) on fords, not had a newer dodge yet to try it on, i dont like the genesis i have but it def does injector cut out on 7.3's
