I haven't had any problems with them and ran one on my truck. get a 1056 if you don't trust it.

i have one and it does just great, havent had a chance to pull anything yet. The lockup isn't too harsh, but its not neck snapping. Feels like it needs a big tune to make it feel right, my hypertech isnt cutting it...

1058 on Hogdog's truck, our puller and Importkilla's truck. All work great. If I redo mine ever, it will get the same.

I am really liking mine now, it works great in my own uneducated opinion. I have pulled a few trailers, about 10,000 miles now with it, no problem with a small tune or stock. It feels stock as far as I concerned, no lag or higher revs to get the load moving. The lockup is something I have got used to, kind of comforting now. It has eased up a little bit with a few miles on it now(about 20K). I think it's a great performer.

I have a 1058 and cut great 60' times for my trucks power at the track and have pulled trailers as heavy as 12,000lbs with it with no problems. I wouldn't say the lock-up is harsh at all, it can just be felt. Winston also has one in his LB7 and has ran a stock charger and the Aurora 5000, towed heavy and ran 11.4s on it, all with no problems. We just finished an LMM with a 1056 that felt great, have another LB7 with 1056, also have an LBZ with a 1054. All three are great converters in my opinion and we haven't had the problems that you mentioned with any of them.

What is the difference between the 1054, 1056,and 1058? Over the summer I am hoping to save enough money so I can rebuild my transmission when the time comes. I am just trying to figure out what I want/need.
