I'm thinking about pulling my twins off and putting a 2.6 turbo on my truck so I can pull at a few places with 2.6 rules. The rules for where I want to pull states that bushings, custom covers, and clipped wheels are prohibited so I want to possibly run a Borg warner s466. Who sells them and whats the price on just the turbo? I would probably remote mount it if i do it so i wont need a pedistal and all that stuff.

I would talk to Trent. I got my 464 from him. Price was good and so far it seems to be a decent turbo.

A 366 would be good as well. I believe 466 would be a better choice however as it has more options for down the road upgrading. Again I would talk to Trent. He did an excellent job spec'ing my turbo.

I want to stay with a s400. Is a 466 an off the shelf charger or is it custom built? If it costs too much I could probably settle for a 464 for the time being and upgrade later.

From what I understand it is an off the shelf charger and on a side note I was looking at a 466 and after talking with Trent decided on a 464 as they flow close to the same amount of air. x10 on calling Trent he'll get ya setup right.

what do they consider a clipped wheel ? I can get a 66X102 mm S400 that uses a billet wheel , don't understand how they can eliminate a charger with a custom wheel , the billet wheel version is identical to the one I get "clipped" to fit a 2.6 cover , it is scheid legal with 1/4" protrusion. If you want give me a call and we can go over the rules and find a loop hole :D

it is not OEM borg , bulls eye makes it but the method could be considered custom just depends on there definition of " Custom " me making a turbo in house is no different than Bulls eye doing it as they are not the OEM , they take OEM parts and build there model line up.

OEM Borg warner the options are S366 t-3 internally gated or t-4 no gated, or S464 .

If an S464 can be upgraded to an S480 is there any way you could convert your S475 in your twins to an S464 ?

Here are the turbo rules. From here: http://www.southwestwipullers.com/?q=node/9
Turbocharger: The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; the inducer bore on the compressor housing may be no larger than 2.6”. Bushing, slugs, cheater rings, stepped covers or clipped wheels from any larger turbo size down to a 2.6 turbo is PROHIBITED. The compressor wheel must protrude into the bore at least 1/8th inch. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. 6.4 liter Powerstroke engines may utilize the factory twin-turbo configuration.

My S475 has the t6 turbine housing with a 1.32ar so i would need pretty much the whole turbo to convert anyway.

Anybody have any thoughts on what a S464 would be capable of hp wise with a little more fuel?

by looking at what you posted it looks to me like you can run a custom 2.6 wheel you just cant run an s480 with the wheel clipped down to 2.6 to fit the bore...thats just what I'm getting
