I am just here to learn at the moment. I don't have a Duramax quite yet, but the plan is to have an 06-07 LBZ in the next year or so. So here is the deal....

I was thinking today about the twin setup using the stock turbo and an S475. Would it be possible to run an S362 or S364 as a single for awhile and then go to that twin kit later on down the road? OR would you want to use an S480 or even bigger charger with the S362/364. After doing some research over the last day or two, I have learned that the Duramax loves compounded chargers. I would like to start out with a smaller S300 as a single, and then move on to a compounded setup down the road.....like the one that Extreme Prejudice Racing offers. Just looking for a little insight on this!

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

I am looking at building the truck to make in the 650-700 range on fuel. Wouldn't an S366/S480 combo be a little much for that? I don't know, which is why I ask.

Nope, you could easily make 650-700 with a 366/480 combo.

i would do the S464 with a S480. mostly because trent sells the 464 as a single and you can twin it later down the road. and i say a S400 due to that day down the road that 700 hp isnt enough for you :D

Can it be done with an 362 or 364/480 also?

Yes it can , but there isnt much point going below a S364 , on a d max spooling even the S366 isnt a problem , and being cost if the same .................... If that is your max target I would consider doing a S364 and a S475 , that would be a real fun street setup and would be 600.00 less than a S480 . And I also Like the S464 option myself but if you goals are modest and you want the best spool up then a stainless housing s364 would be the ultimate choice , now if you think you are going to build the motor one day the S4 frame is much smarter as it gives you plent of room to grow with out replacing the whole kit .
