All of a sudden I have the overflow tank backing up after I shut the truck off & I can hear a gurgling sound in the upper radiator hose. It last at least 10 minutes after it's been off. Logged temps never go over 199. Tell me what I think I know. :( Oil is clean

Soft because the water pump started to weep out of the hole this after noon, so I had the cap loose. BUT I heard the same thing yesterday & the pump was NOT weeping then.

Sounds like what mine did when I had an o-ring on an injector cup leaking.
Hope that' gives you something to hope for. Head gasket will make the reservoir black I have always been told.

Pull dipstick your crank will be full of fuel or have fuel in it. If you take a blue light and shine around your heads and intake that will tell u if you have head problems. If the truck didnt run hot i dont see where the head would be a problem. Unless its from that massive turbo u have:D

So Cal.
Remove all eight glow plugs. Let truck set overnight. Open hood and have sombody crank the engine over. Check for fluid coming out of glow plug holes.

O'reilly has a rebuilt water pump for around $40. Blowing the seal is a common sign of extra pressure in the cooling system. :( Lets hope it's just a coincidence.

A) Move to Hard Parts.

B) LB7 or LLY? LLY's don't tend to have head gasket problems as often as LB7's, unless they have overheated. But water pumps are very common.

C) Is there any coolant underneath truck?

:yup:

I couldn't get all 8 out. I could only remove 6, but it was enough to let me know my shit was screwed.

Hopefully it's not head gaskets. I'm sure your ready to install your goodies:eek:

I didn't have fuel in the crankcase, I had coolant.:)

How would you diagnose that?

I did it with the glow plus out like Dan said. I found the problem from an oil sample originally though, it read that it had some coolant in it. I had been losing coolant for quite a while and couldn't find where it was going so I assumed it was out the exhaust. Got a little smoke sometimes at an idle.
