A buddy has a LMM and if we put a DPF delete on it can we run heating fuel? It is 500 ppm or more and wasn't sure if the only reason you had to run ultra low sulfer on the new diesels was because of the DPF or injectors.

As long as it's filtered you can run whatever diesel you want providing it doesn't jell. I might limit the % of bio. But I doubt anyone runs a high concentration of that this time of the year.

It won't gel. It's the fuel everyone heats their houses with here in Fairbanks and it's 70 cents cheaper per gallon. I run it in my work truck (6.0 power joke). I don't know if it's the same as bio diesel or not. Not sure exactly what it is I just know it keeps my house warm.

should be fine I have ran a few tanks of it hell I have ran a tank of kerosene(+ additive to up lubricity) too.

I will say that you should add a 1-2 Micron Filtration to the truck to help as heating fuel is not filtered as well.

heating fuel may need to be cut with #1/kerosene as it is a bit thicker.

When ULSD came out, it was common that HHO (ASTM D396) was 500ppm instead of the ULSD standard 15ppm (ASTM D975). Nowadays, in many places HHO is <15ppm also.

The law in CT changed from <1500ppm allowable to <500ppm allowable, and I don't think <15ppm requirement is very far off.

I'm sure someone will jump in here and give you a whole ration of shit for the fact that "dyed" HHO is not taxed (that's why its cheap), with some horror story of $150,000,000 zillion dollar fines. Just be sure you understand and know what the likelihood and penalties are if you ARE caught.

In Alaska as long as it is ran in an auxillary tank in the bed it is legal. It is not legal to run in your primary, under the bed, tank.
Its not dyed, its not off road diesel, it is heating fuel for housing.

Nice way to transfer just haul in bed tank. If it's hi sulpher that's better. Wish we could get hi count fuel down in 48's for offroad. Hate that lifter clanking low sulpher. 2 cycle oil helps it alot for us.
