While doing a downpipe install on an LMM. A small piece of the rubber grommet for the transmission dipstick went into the transmission. Probably about the size of a penny. Does anyone think this will be a problem? I cant see iit causing real big problems but just want to doublecheck

I would drop the pan and change your sump filter while you are in there. Never a good idea to have parts or particles floating around in the pan.

Pretty easy to drain and remove the pan so you can remove the rubber piece.....

I highly doubt it would ever cause an issue, but why take the chance?

Leave it alone and don't worry. If you find tha:Dt you can not sleep at night; drop the pan and remove the piece.

Considering ford use to knock plastic plugs into the Trans pans all the times on their cv and expeditions when they would install the dip sticks, I wouldnt worry. Every first 30k when I would do a Trans flush and filter change, there would be the yellow plastic plug in the pan. Had me wondering the the first time I seen it

Ford did that on every trans they built for years.

It scared the hell outta me when I was 16 and did my neighbors f150 fluid. I didn't notice the yellow plug until I put the pan back on and filled her up.
