Theres a possibility that I have a melted piston or bent rod in the truck in my sig. I was wondering how bad it would be to put cut lb7 pistons in it with lbz rods without having the rotating assembly balanced. Also what's the average cost to get it balanced. I'm only thinking about running lbz rods because I'm not really going to do much more to that truck for quite a while. Thanks

Can't do without balancing. The lbz rods are heavier than the lb7 ones. Balancing doesn't cost that much.
I have another truck to build now and theres no chance that i can afford to build 2 engines this year so I want to keep this one stockish for now.
It still runs but smokes like crazy when it's cold and runs very rough. Puffing unburnt fuel out the exhaust. Some people have me thinking it could be an internal problem. I haven't done a compression test yet but I'm going to have to.
Ahh mine has done this a lot since the temps had been down in the 20's. It was not that bad last year but still smoked, but this year its smoking pretty heavy on cold start ups. It goes away completely when warm. I assume this is the sign I should start looking for rods huh?
Same as mine. Past couple years it wasn't that bad but this year it's really bad.
Damn man I hope this isnt the case. I only made a total of 12 passes on it this year in the low 12's. I hope its injectors or just the summer fuel thats still running through it. I did dump 8oz of two stroke oil in it to see it some would clean up with some added lubricant. Wishful thinking
