I left the ground above the glow plug controller unhooked when i went to rescale my cp3, now my cs will only detect the truck about 10% of the time, if it does happen to detect the truck it can't figure out what truck its hooked to, finally if I make it far enough to actually load pid's. Its missing many of them, and the ones it does read are all over the place...I.e. Mph jumping to 140mph at idle, rpm bouncing around, rp jumping everywhere. This only adding to the issues I have been having with my rail pressure,
My question, could that ground have caused damage to the ecu? Or cs?

First thing I would do is hook up another scanner and make sure you can read everything. I'm pretty sure if you bricked the ecm there would be no coming back and no readings at all.

You may have corrupted the file when you rescaled. Try doing a full flash.

I hope so, going to give that a shot, i know the lly's are finicky with there electronics. Tomorrow I'll have a spare ecu on hand if needed.

So its possible to to just damage some files but still have a drivable truck?
