Another Dmax rod is coming! I was reading the March 08 Diesel World mag. The one with Casper on the cover.:rofl: On page 69 there is a pic of a Dmax billet rod from Howards Cams. It says it has pressurized wrist pn oiling like the Carrillo but it should be lighter. Hopefully cheaper! I would be real nice if you could get them for under 2K. I looked on howardscams.com no info yet. I might just have to call them tommorrow!

Cool. The little pic looks nice. I have used there small block rods. Very nice stuff on a budget and made in the USA.

Did Pat get a look at the new ATS manifolds and up pipes? The manifolds look all right but the up pipes look weird. Page 65.

I use a lot of there stuff in my customers gasser motors. Very nice stuff. I talked to them they have them ready to ship but I was told $2799-10%. That sounds high but I was not talking to my normal guy. I reallly thought they would be a little cheaper. I just picked up my LBZ block so i'm going to start on my motor. I think i'm going to try aluminum rod unless someone can give a a good reason not to. I need to get specs for a factory rod to get some ordered up. As long as the little ed of the rod will clear the piston top I think it will work. Thanks Jeff

this is rediculous. Rods have been out a good while, and there are a fair amount of MFG's that make rods. What gives with the stupid high prices???

Yea, I think the Crowers are the cheapest. The only way i could get my wallet wrapped around it was to hold a billet BBC rod next to a DMAX rod. The DMAX rod is a little bigger in section. That's why they cost 4 x's as much as the BBC rod.... 4340 steel is valued at $400 pound, sorry sarcasm snuck out...again.

Nobody will reduce the price until the market floods and one MFG'r jumps in and sells 'em cheaper. Somebody will say the cheap one's suck and a few months later all the prices will fall when we figure out they are as good as the rest of the rods. The only other option is to tell everybody to stop buying them... that'll drive the price down as well. Until then... short and curlies.

i tell you what if the price of rods was like those my motor would already be out and the rods would going in. i believe the price of rods is what make everyone push the limits and so many blocks get totaled. i wish someone could come out with some soon
