Anyone know of place that will replace rockers in MN that isn't going to bend me over? I have gotten a couple quotes one at $3,000 total and one at $5,000. I also thought about doing it myself but i am not a body man and i want it to look good. Any help is appreciated.

How bad are yours? I've seen guys go get just the rockers linex'ed over when they start to rust. Looks good and seems to last for 4 or 5 years.

Any shop that does rockers cheap is probably going to rust through in less then 2 or 3 years in the northern states.

I've done rockers and they are a lot of work and messy, not to mention after they're replaced you'll need to paint them which sounds easy until you pull the trigger for the first time. $3K isn't a terrible price.

There's already a couple small holes and they are pretty thin.. they went in a real hurry i couldn't believe it.
Yeah I hear ya, last fall mine looked like new. Now they are looking not so good.

I have a co-worker who's 02 f-150 he had rockers replaced and door seams redone (not sure how they do that) for $2500....but the body shop is owned by his buddy so he prolly got a better deal. I can find out which shop did it if you want, I'm almost positive it was done in Melrose....I'm not sure how far you are from there...lol

I linexed the rockers on my 2001 back in 2005-2006 and when I sold it in 2010 they were always black, didn't turn grey. I always washed the rockers when washed the pickup so maybe thats why I didn't have any issues.

That white pickup looks pretty good with the black linex I think.

If i had it linexed I think id still need to cut the rust out and weld in some new material. I was thinking about grinding it out and putting a thick coat of dura-glass on it and then getting some paint matched spray cans and bombing it, but that's a band-aid that needs stitches.

The shop that linex'ed the white truck will weld in a basic patch if need be before doing the linex.

I've have linex turn grey before also. All it takes is come concentrated truck wash or equivalent soap sprayed on it from a hand sprayer, then power wash the soap off and it comes right back to black. I spray the soap on while it's still wet from the initial wash also.

Holy crap!! I guess I got a pretty good deal at $900 to have the rockers and cab corners replaced and painted on my CC Dually. They're holding up well so far. They put a ton of salt up here in the winter, but I have the truck rust proofed every year. Maybe that's why its holding up.

I replaced my own. To do it right isn't cheap or easy. If you've never done body work before I wouldn't recommend a full replacement. Your cheapest bet is going to be weld patches and linex it. It's not a permanent fix but it will buy you some time.

I have sprayed a couple trucks w/ a product called Raptor Liner and I really like it. It still has texture and covers well, but has a more glossy/plastic like finish to it and doesn't grab your rag when wiping the truck off like LineX does. They also sell this product tintable so you could spray white - I have only done 1 tinted one but sold the truck right away so I can't tell you how the color holds up against fade, but the black that I sprayed on my dads dodge 8 years ago is still nice and black. If it would ever fade, you can scuff and spray another coat or scuff and paint over it as well.

I was quoted $3500 for rockers on my truck from my go-to body shop.

I watched a customer on my route do his own rockers and cab corners on his Suburban a couple years ago. Took him and his brother a month or so, but when they were done the Sub looked great.

All I can say is I'm damn glad I don't live in the rust belt. You can have bare metal out here last for years and years lmao
