Reset Taps???

When having/installing a SC IV kit, can/should you reset the taps before the transmission is removed? Or is it best to reset them before the first road test?

Hopefully it will be returning into the truck tomorrow. Trying to find the excat procedure for reseting the TCM for relearning with EFI. I think I have software version 7.5.5.
